Steven E. Schulz President & CEO
Steve brings over 30 years of broad electronics industry experience to Modulus Media Systems, LLC. As a musician and videophile, Modulus combines his passion for media, love of technology, and deep executive management experience with his vision to solve today's fragmented multimedia experience.
Prior to founding Modulus, Steve served over 12 years as President and CEO of the global electronics consortium Silicon Integration Initiative, Inc. (Si2). Under Steve's leadership, Si2 grew in size and revenue by over 400% and increased retained equity over 10x, while growing services seven-fold. At Si2, he led and managed the development and use of electronics standards and software technologies in over 30 countries, hosting conferences and delivering keynote speeches around the world. Steve co-founded several industry magazines and wrote nearly one thousand articles in those and other leading publications. His broad vision, name recognition, and business acumen resulted in numerous interviews and analyst conference calls by Merrill-Lynch and other financial / research firms. His network of executive business contacts is extensive, spanning technology market categories.
Steve brings unusual technical breadth to Modulus, spanning hardware and software, electronic systems to semiconductors, databases, communications, and design through manufacturing. He was a Senior Member Technical Staff during his 19 years at Texas Instruments, and led multiple new technology initiatives for TI worldwide. Steve first leveraged his MBA from U. Texas within TI's WW marketing organization, then left to become VP Corporate Marketing for BOPS, Inc., a 'Hot 100” high-technology startup in Mountain View, CA).
During his years with TI, Steve was Chair of the Design Sciences Technical Advisory Board for Semiconductor Research Corporation (NC), Co-Chair for Accellera's Board of Directors (CA), and President of VHDL International (CA). Steve has served on the Boards of various emerging technology startups, and is active in his community as a church council leader.
Steve received his BSEE from the University of Maryland, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He and his wife, Carmen, have been married 28 years and have two daughters in college. Steve is a jazz trombone musician and regularly performs around the Austin area.

Reid Slaughter Chief Marketing Officer
Reid Slaughter has worked in all facets of content creation for more than 30 years. In 1981, he founded the weekly newspaper, Park Cities People, which became one of the most honored community publications in America. In 1988, he went on the road with the Atlanta Hawks basketball team and authored the book, Flying High, about the NBA’s smallest player, Anthony “Spud” Webb. After six years of producing and directing syndicated television, he purchased Santa Fe-based Cowboys & Indians Magazine and built it into “The Premier Magazine of the West” and one of America’s Top 300 newsstand titles. He is the founding publisher of several other national magazines and websites, and has been featured on NBC News, The New York Times, “Entertainment Tonight” and Texas Monthly. In 2009 he co-founded You+Media, where he wrote, directed, and/or served as Creative Director for the production of more than 700 videos. Today he is CEO of Bandana Films, a Dallas-based company that produces short films, documentaries, and commercial videos. He also serves as CMO for Modulus Media Systems, guiding all marketing for the Modulus M1, the first ever all-in-one DVR for the streaming age.
Reid is married to his wife Donna, and together they have two kids: Story, who is an actress in Los Angeles, and Yale, who works with Reid at Bandana Films in Dallas.
Carmen L. Adams-Schulz Chief Operations Officer
Carmen brings 20 years of executive and sales experience to Modulus Media Systems. Prior to Modulus, Carmen was Vice President of Client Relationship Management of Fidelity Investments Institutional Retirement Services in Irving, Texas. In addition to Client Services, she directed Institutional Operations and managed Brokerage Services. Prior to Fidelity, Carmen achieved her CFP and sold financial services for The Copeland Company and Merrill Lynch. She holds a Masters degree in Finance from University of Texas at Dallas and a Marketing degree from Murray State University.
Carmen devotes much of her time in support of her two college-aged daughters and volunteers at her church and similar organizations. Currently, she is Chair of the Butterfly Preschool Board in Austin.
